Most businesses handle “sensitive information” in their normal course of business. If this information is lost or stolen, there may be heavy penalties levied, civil and criminal action taken against the business and its' executives, and class-action lawsuits.
While there are no guarantees about avoiding identity theft, there are steps that every business should take to protect sensitive information and to be in compliance with current legislation.
